Taiyuan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception is the cathedral of the Catholic Taiyuan Diocese. It was founded by the Franciscans and is located at No. 170 Jiefang Road, Xinghualing District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, China.

During the Gengzi Boxing Rebellion in 1900, the Taiyuan Religion Case occurred. Many Chinese Christians and missionaries who refused to apostate were killed and martyred in Taiyuan. In particular, dozens of missionaries were killed collectively in the Governor’s Yamen in July, including 12 foreign Franciscans. The priests include Bishop Aishijie from Shanbei Vicariate (now Taiyuan Diocese), Assistant Bishop Fugara, two priests, seven nuns of the Franciscan Missionary Society of Mary and one monk. In 2000, 26 deadly saints in the diocese of Taiyuan were canonized as saints of China by John Paul II.

The cathedral and all church buildings were also burned down. In 1902, Bishop Feng Chaorui rebuilt the cathedral, which was completed in 1905. The church experienced the Anti-Japanese War and the Cultural Revolution and has been preserved to this day.
