The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall is located on the central axis of Tiananmen Square. To the south of the Monument to the People's Heroes is the Memorial Hall, which is solemn and solemn. Chairman Mao was buried here, and there is an endless stream of tourists who come here every day to pay their respects to his remains.

The memorial hall has two floors, the first floor is mainly to pay homage to Chairman Mao's remains, and the second floor is the revolutionary achievements memorial room. Generally, individual tourists can only visit the first floor, and the second floor needs to be organized by organizations.

First Floor: Paying homage to Chairman Mao's remains

The first floor consists of three parts: the North Hall, the Admiration Hall and the South Hall. The North Hall is where the entrance is visited and commemorative ceremonies are held.

Walk forward in order and come to the hall of worship, which is the focus of this trip. Chairman Mao was dressed in a gray Chinese tunic suit, covered with party flags, and lay in a crystal coffin. Because they are queuing up to pay their respects, they cannot stay in the viewing hall. Many people line up for an hour or two, just to pay their respects to the remains of the great man for a few minutes.

Second Floor: Revisiting the Revolutionary Story

If it is organized by the unit, you can see the statue and related photos, documents and real objects in the memorial room on the second floor. In addition, in the movie hall, you can watch the documentary "Remembrance", which is about 20 minutes long.

1. Dress appropriately and take off your hat to pay respects. Those wearing vests, slippers, etc. will be refused entry.
2. Cameras, food, liquids, school bags and other items must be stored at the bag depository across the road on the east side of the square (cameras are charged separately). It is recommended to bring as little luggage as possible.
3. The atmosphere in the memorial hall is very solemn. No loud noises or photos are allowed, and the mobile phone must be turned off or muted.
4. There are very, very many people queuing up during the peak season, and there is almost no shelter on the square, so pay attention to sun protection.
