Chaona Qiuyuan was the name of the lake in Qin and Han Dynasties, namely Donghaizi and Xihaizi. Donghaizi is located in Ganhai Village, Chuankou Township, in the northwest of Pengyang County. Now the lake leaks, and the locals call it "Ganhaizi"; Xihaizi is located in Haizixia, 20 kilometers southwest of Guyuan County.
Chaona Qiuyuan Xihaizi has a unique and beautiful scenery, surrounded by mountains and shaped like a palm. It has been turned into a scenic spot in Guyuan area. Haizi water gushes out from two holes in the mountain gap, which the locals call East and West Longkou. After a long time, it will drip into pools and seas, and there will be a pool of spring water in the depths of the mountains. In the Qing Dynasty, Xihaizi was listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Guyuan, known as "Xihai Chunbo". After the founding of the People's Republic of China, two reservoirs have been built here to solve the problem of farmland irrigation and Guyuan city water use.
The green grass on the shore of Chaona Qiuyuan Haizi is like a brocade. The setting sun is slanting to the west. Beishan is gentle, and shepherds drive cattle and sheep on the hillside, shining like pearls. Looking from west to east, there are mountains connected to each other, forming a natural barrier. The peak of Nanshan is steep and abrupt, with lush vegetation, which is a good place for summer tourism and rest.
