Chaoyang Building, also known as Yinghui Gate, is located at the east end of Jianzhong Road in the center of Jianshui County. It is a landmark building in Jianshui Ancient City. During the Yuanhe period of the Tang Dynasty, the Nanzhao regime built an earthen city here. In the 20th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1387), Lin'an Guard was established, and the original earthen city was expanded into a brick city. In the 22nd year of Ming Hongwu (1389), Chaoyang Tower was built, which was the east gate tower of the water city at that time. In the early years of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty, Li Dingguo captured Lin'an City, and the three towers of the South Gate, West Gate, and North Gate were destroyed by the flames of war. They were restored in the fourth year of Kangxi, and then destroyed again. Now they have collapsed and disappeared. Only the East Gate Chaoyang Building, despite many wars and earthquakes, still stands as before, and has become a symbol of the remaining important towns in southern Yunnan. The Chaoyang Building is three stories high and has a triple eaves roof structure. Standing on the top of the building, you can overlook the living beings on Lin'an Road through the window. Chaoyang Building and the half-moon square next to it are leisure places for local people. In the morning, the sun gradually rises above the city tower, and at night, the Chaoyang Tower shines brightly, which is a favorite scene for photography lovers.
