Chengcheng Chenghuang Temple Shenlou, also known as Lelou, is located in West Street, Chengcheng County, Weinan City. The Shenlou was first built in the thirteenth year of Tang Zhenyuan (797) and rebuilt in the tenth year of Ming Wanli (1582). The existing buildings still maintain the obvious Ming Dynasty style, but some components such as stone pillars and foundations are still original from the Tang Dynasty.
The Shenlou faces south and is located on a high platform with 40 steps. It is composed of a middle building, an east building and a west building. There are three ancient buildings with flying eaves and bucket arches, and glazed double eaves. The main building in the middle is the Le Tower, and the two sides are the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower. The main building is the top of the mountain with double eaves and three drops of water. The building is wide and two-story high. The ground floor has a corridor, which is tall and magnificent. There are wooden stairs in the building, visitors can climb the stairs along here to enjoy the scenery.
The buildings on the east and west sides are exquisite and exquisite, flying like wings, which is very spectacular. The second floor is a square pavilion style pavilion, each built with 14 pillars, beams and stacked wood. The roof style is glazed double eaves with cross-shaped Xieshan top, flying eaves and bucket arches, and four corners with bells. In addition, there are also cultural relics and historic sites such as the Dharani scripture building of the Tang Dynasty, the big bell of the Jin Dynasty, the big Jiao basin of the Yuan Dynasty, the big iron lamp of the Ming Dynasty and some important steles.
