The scenic spot is a park-style building, which is not only a memorial hall but also a park, as well as a martyr's cemetery for revolutionary martyrs. The area of the park is very large, about 400 meters long and nearly 200 meters wide. The park is an open square. There are several main buildings on the square, such as group sculptures of heroes, monuments, the cemetery of heroes and the exhibition hall, which are basically distributed in a straight line. On the central axis behind the gate, you can visit them one by one. In addition, many lawns and pines and cypresses are planted in the park for tourists to disperse. There are several martyrs memorial pavilions between the lawns and woods, and the environment is very beautiful.
The sculptures of heroes and the monument are the first buildings you see on the square after entering the gate. The group of sculptures is about two stories high. It depicts seven Red Army soldiers close together and facing all directions. The postures of the seven soldiers are different. The soldiers, the wounded and sick who blew grenades and died with the enemy, the local masses who rescued the Red Army, the female health workers who rescued the wounded, and the trumpeters who played the charge horn, commemorated the spirit of the West Route Army in the difficult environment that persisted in fighting. Behind the sculptures is a monument, about 30 meters high, with commemorative words on the front and an inscription explaining the history of the West Route Army on the back.
Behind the monument is the cemetery of the fallen martyrs. More than 3,000 Red Army soldiers who died here were buried in the cemetery. It was buried here after being searched quietly and cleaned up. When you come here, you may wish to bow or mourn for the soldiers, and pay tribute to the heroic souls who sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary ideal.
The exhibition hall located on the inner side of the park is the main body of the memorial hall. The building of the memorial hall is about 12 meters high and looks like a beacon tower. You can take pictures outside. Walking into the museum, there are eight themed exhibition halls: Orderly Hall, Crossing the Yellow River West, Coping with the East River, Bloody Battle at the High Level, Dividing Troops in Shiwo, All-out Rescue, Loyalty, and Shining for the Future.
