Cho Oyu Peak, also known as "Qiao Uya Peak", is 8,201 meters above sea level and is the sixth highest peak in the world. It is located on the border between China and Nepal. The peak is bounded by the northeast ridge and the southwest ridge. The north side is in Tingri County, Tibet Autonomous Region, and the south side belongs to the Kingdom of Nepal.
Cho Oyu stands tall and majestic in the middle of the Himalayas, 100 kilometers east of Mount Everest, the top of the world. Cho Oyu Peak mainly has five ridges in the northwest, northeast, southwest, southeast and west mountains. The peak body is covered by perennial snow and countless glaciers. The Gabula Glacier in the north is more than 10 kilometers long, the Lamba Glacier in the south is 14 kilometers long, and the Gezhongba Glacier is more than 20 kilometers long. The glacier types are mainly valley glaciers, followed by flat-top glaciers, cirque glaciers and so on.
On October 19, 1954, four members of the Austrian mountaineering team climbed Cho Oyu along the northwest slope.
