Gongtan Ancient Town is located on the bank of Wujiang River. It was born because of the beach and prospered because of the salt. It has a history of more than 1,800 years.

The buildings on stilted feet built along the river are known as "notes on the cliff". You can have a panoramic view of the Wujiang Baili Gallery, and the opposite bank of the river stands thousands of feet high, with uncanny workmanship.

Going upstream along the Wujiang River from Gongtan Ancient Town, through Tutuozi Gorge, Baiji Gorge, and finally to Lizhi Gorge, is the essence of Wujiang Baili Gallery. Mei Ruoweng, a poet of the Qing Dynasty, praised in a poem that "the mountains and rivers in the middle of Shu are wonderful, and this should be promoted. one."

The ancient town is not big, so if you wander around, you can go around in two or three hours. If you are tired from shopping, you can go to the old street, where many delicacies of the ancient town are concentrated, such as fragrant mushroom balls, fried bacon with old bacon, radish with pig's trotters, cold tofu, bean curd and other ancient town delicacies. There are also many inns in the ancient town. If you like the leisure of the ancient town, you might as well stay for two days, which is also a good choice.
