Chunqiu Village is located in Nanzhang County, Xiangyang, also known as Qingyun Village and Luping Village. It is named after the Spring and Autumn Building commemorating Guan Gong built in the village. It is an outstanding representative of the world-famous ancient Nanzhang villages.
The altitude of Chunqiu Village is not high, but the stone houses built on the ridge of the mountain are row upon row, which is magnificent. From a distance, Chunqiu Village looks like a section of the Great Wall stretching across the top of a north-south mountain. Here, "the water is a green belt, and the mountains are like jasper hairpins", the blue sky and white clouds, the beautiful water and the green cliffs, the enemy towers and the ancient castles complement each other beautifully, and the combination of human landscape and natural landscape is a rare wonder of the world.
The Shanzhai has a long history of humanities. It was formed in the Chu and Han Dynasties, flourished and perfected in the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and has been rebuilt and restored by successive dynasties. It is easy to defend and difficult to attack. It faces water from east to west, north to north, and a cliff cut by knives and axes on the south. Reservoirs and other equipment, houses are made of stone. There is a viewing platform on the village, where you can enjoy the beautiful landscape, walk on the simple trails, and feel the atmosphere of the life of the ancestors. Although the stone house has gone through vicissitudes, it still stands tall.
Climb to the top of Nanshan Gate to visit the Spring and Autumn War. Along the way, you can enjoy scenic spots such as the cliff, the Spring and Autumn Tower, the site of Guan Gong's night reading, and the flying stone outside the sky. After descending from the gentle slope of the north gate, you can return to the visitor center along the Maoping River path, walk through the landscape bridge to the cableway station, take the sightseeing cable car to the top of Wangyue Mountain, and overlook the panorama of Chunqiu Village across the river.
