Cibi Lake is located in the northeast of Eryuan County, about 3 kilometers away from Eryuan County, 73 kilometers north of Dali, and 58 kilometers south of Jianchuan Shibaoshan Scenic Area. It is the main lake at the source of Erhai Lake, with an area of 8.46 square kilometers and a total length of 17 kilometers of shoreline.
Cibi Lake, also known as Ninghu Lake, is named for the Cibi flower that grows in the lake. The Cibi flower belongs to the water lily family. The flower stem is as thick as chopsticks, about 10 meters long, and the leaves are heart-shaped. Every year in July and August of the lunar calendar, Cibi flowers bloom, but they only open for about half an hour at sunrise and afternoon, so they are also called "Ziwu lotus".
In Cibi Lake, there is also a rare natural landscape called "water flower tree". On a sunny day, if you take a boat to the center of the lake, you may enjoy such a spectacle: in the deep green and transparent water, from bottom to top, strings of bright water drops emerge, in the middle of the lake. Under the sunlight, it looks like a jade tree covered with pearls.
