Keketuohai is located in the northeast of Fuyun County in the Altay region of northern Xinjiang. In a broad sense, Keketuohai refers to a large area near Keketuohai Town. There are four parts: Kekesuli, Yiremu Lake, Earthquake Fault Zone and Irtysh Grand Canyon. Both the lake and the earthquake fault zone are on the way to the Grand Canyon. These places are not development attractions and are free to visit. You can simply take a look when you go to the Grand Canyon. The Irtysh Grand Canyon is the main scenic spot of the entire Keketuohai, which is also the Keketuohai scenic spot referred to by ordinary tourists.
Keketuohai Scenic Area (i.e. Irtysh Grand Canyon Scenic Area) is the source of the famous river Irtysh River in northern Xinjiang. The scenic area is about 20 kilometers long, including birch forests, Shuimogou, Shenzhong Mountain, hot springs, etc. More than a dozen scenic spots are all along the Irtysh River. There is a shuttle bus in the scenic area, which is a round-trip ticket from the gate of the scenic area to Shenzhong Mountain (17 kilometers one way). The operation method of the shuttle bus is similar to that of a bus. It will stop at several places in the middle, and tourists will get off the bus to visit the surrounding attractions before waiting for the next bus. Shenzhong Mountain is still 6.5 kilometers inward to the hot spring in the depths of the canyon, and you need to go on foot. If you are not physically strong enough, you can also take a scenic patrol car to go there.
The more important scenic spots in the section from the gate of the scenic spot to Shenzhong Mountain include Birch Forest, Shuimogou, Hongyegou and Shenzhong Mountain. There are also many strange peaks and rocks along the road, and the Irtysh River in the middle is clear and magnificent, so you can have a good time.
The birch forest not far from the entrance of the scenic spot and the Hongyegou near the Shimen parking lot are very suitable for viewing in autumn. The leaves are either golden or fiery red, and they are very gorgeous. In autumn, the peaks behind the forest also start to accumulate snow, like a beautiful snow mountain. At this time, the leaves, rivers and snow-capped mountains are in harmony, which is a good time to shoot blockbuster movies.
The vicinity of Shuimogou is suitable for visiting in summer. After a short walk to the west, there is an open grassland. Every summer, wild flowers are blooming and very beautiful. Shenzhong Mountain is a strange granite peak, steep and independent, very peculiar, and it is a landmark mountain in the scenic spot.
There are several scenic spots in the inner part of Shenzhong Mountain, such as Elephant Trunk Peak, Luotuo Peak, Shenying Peak, etc., mainly for viewing strange peaks and rocks and waterfalls in the mountains. The most important thing is the Jilande Hot Spring in the depths of the canyon. The water temperature here is about 39 degrees, which is close to the body temperature of the human body, so it is also very comfortable. For the section from Shenzhong Mountain to the hot spring, if you have enough physical strength, it is recommended to walk for fun. You will not miss every scene, and you can enjoy the relaxing feeling of enjoying the hot spring after hiking.
Generally, tourists come here for a simple tour for about half a day, then return to Fuyun County or Keketuohai Town for accommodation, and then go to Kanas or Urumqi the next day. If you are a hiking backpacker or a tourist who wants to travel in depth, you can also stay in the scenic spot for one night. In the scenic spot, there are local herdsmen's yurts where you can live in the Shimen parking lot, the Shenzhongshan parking lot and the hot springs. The camps near the hot springs can also camp free for tourists who bring their own equipment, which can be chosen according to personal circumstances.
