Crescent Gorge is located in the middle of Jinsi Gorge, which is the narrow part of Heilong Gorge. On one side is Shenbian Peak, on the other side is Maoer Cliff. Looking up from the bottom of the valley, the light shines in from the crevice of the cliff like a crescent moon, hence the name Crescent Gorge.
