Cuifeng Mountain stands in the north of Zhouqu City, surrounded by mountains at the southern foot of Leigu Mountain, the majestic and magnificent vein of Dieshan Mountain. Its mountains are majestic and straight, standing horizontally like a screen, with cliffs on the northeast and south facing the sky, steep like swords, and only Shanxi has a rugged and dangerous way to reach the peak.
Cuifeng Mountain is not only beautiful in natural scenery, but also has many exquisite cultural landscapes. According to legend, in the Song Dynasty, a monk traveled to the frontier of Xigu (the place name of ancient Zhouqu) to discern the truth with his eyes and recognized the pure land of Cuifeng. He built a temple here and practiced hard in front of the wall. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the temple was quite large, with endless bells and drums in the morning and evening, and pilgrims lingering inscriptions, so it is also commonly known as Xian Temple and Cuifeng Temple.
