Dazecuo, also known as Dakeci Lake and Dagejico, means Huding Lake in Tibetan. It is located in a faulted basin in Nyima County, Nagqu Prefecture, in the northern part of the Qiangtang Plateau. It is a carbonate-type saltwater lake. The lake is 4459 meters above sea level, 31.7 meters deep, and the lake is blue. The east and west banks are flat and open, while the north and south banks are steep. There are many very obvious concentric ancient embankments distributed on the lakeshore, and the tallest one is 90 meters higher than the current lake surface, which shows that Daze Co was much larger in area and water depth during the Ice Age than it is now. Dazeco is located in the arid and cold North Qiangtang, with an average annual temperature of 0-2 degrees and an annual precipitation of only 200 mm. The water supply of the lake mainly depends on Bocang Zangbo (also known as Mochang Zangbo) and Naruoqu. Bocang Zangbo originates from the snow-capped mountains in the central part of the northern Tibetan plateau, with a length of about 200 kilometers.
