The Dadiwan site is located in Wuying Township on the north side of Qin'an County, Tianshui City, about 100 kilometers away from Tianshui City by car. This is a Neolithic cultural site dating from 8000 to 5000 years ago, and it is also one of the earliest Neolithic cultures discovered in China. Today's Dadiwan site has built museums, ruins restoration, palace ruins and other facilities. Tourists can visit cultural relics, watch the restored ruins, and learn about the early civilization of the origin of the Chinese nation.
The Dadiwan Site is currently divided into three parts, namely the Dadiwan Museum, the Site Restoration Area and the Dadiwan Palace Site. The distance between them is about a few hundred meters. You can visit and play one by one on foot. Generally, about 3 hours is appropriate.
The Dadiwan Museum is a building imitating an earthen wall. The building is particularly majestic and has a quaint atmosphere. The museum is divided into four themed exhibition areas: Excavation and Protection, Remains of Time, Pottery Style, and Sleeping with Heaven and Earth. Through a large number of text and picture descriptions, it introduces the origin of Chinese civilization in the Neolithic Age. The museum displays a lot of pottery, stone tools, bone tools, etc., all of which were excavated from the local Dadiwan site. These cultural relics belong to the Yangshao culture, and are also the earliest proof of the origin of Chinese civilization. They are very precious, so you can take a good look here. In addition, there are Dadiwan tomb prototypes and Dadiwan restoration sand tables in the museum, which can be visited one by one to help understand the situation of the Yellow River civilization in the Neolithic period.
About a few hundred meters to the west of the museum, there is a restoration area of the Dadiwan ruins. Part of the Dadiwan ruins has been restored as it was. Visitors can see villages with Neolithic characteristics here. There are several small houses built with thatched grass and wooden pillars, and there are statues reflecting the life scenes of ancient people in the Neolithic Age. You can visit here one by one to understand the scenes of the ancient people's life. In addition, the villages composed of thatched houses also have a unique charm, and it is also very good to take pictures here.
The Dadiwan Palace site is located about a few hundred meters south of the museum and site restoration area. It is an archaeologically excavated site of the Dadiwan Palace foundation and some walls. Now a house has been built on the outside of the original site for protection.
