Dana Temple is a Gesar Lingguo monastery in Tibetan area, and also a monastery of the Yerba Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is a provincial cultural relic protection unit. The full Tibetan name is "Dana Seng Ge Nan Zong", which is translated into Maltese Lion Tianbao in Chinese. It got its name because it is located on a rocky mountain whose shape resembles Baal. So far, it has a history of more than 800 years. It was founded by Sangji Yeba Yixi Zeba, the founder of Pamo Zhuba, a well-known Tibetan Buddhist monk, Padrup Kagyu.
Tens of thousands of early Tibetan scriptures and other precious cultural relics are displayed in the scripture hall of Dana Temple. The ancient buildings and cultural relics of Dana Temple have been severely burned and destroyed, but some cultural relics and ancient buildings are still preserved, and they are relatively well preserved.
Such a well-preserved group of early Tibetan-style spiritual pagodas is not only unique in the Qinghai-Tibet region, but also rare in the whole country. In terms of architectural form, it retains the construction style and architectural art of Tibetan-style pagodas in the late Tang Dynasty. It not only inherits the basic specifications of Indian Buddhist pagodas, but also is a unique style of ancient Tibetan religious architectural art and Tibetan Buddhist architectural art. Beside the several ancient pagodas of Dana Temple, after the rain, the dense fog fills the air, and the light of Buddha or rainbow is in front of you, which seems to be within reach.
