Dangjiachayan Lake is located in the southwest of Xiji County, 38 kilometers away from the county seat, within the territory of Subao Township. It is currently the largest earthquake barrier lake in Guyuan area. It is like a bright crystal bead inlaid on the vast Loess Plateau.
The original lake area of Dangjiachayan Lake is about 80 square kilometers. The existing water surface is 600 meters wide from east to west, 3110 meters long from north to south, with an area of 1.866 million square meters, an average water depth of about 12 meters, and a total volume of about 16 million cubic meters. Its water quality is bitter and salty, and its mineralization is high, so it can neither be eaten nor watered. Crucian carp, carp, grass carp, etc. grow in the weir, and artificially planted reeds grow in the shallow water beside the weir.
