Dangjia Village is located in the northeast of Hancheng City, Shaanxi Province, on the Yanggao bank of the Bishui River Valley, a geomantic treasure land shaped like a "gourd". It is nine kilometers away from the urban area of ​​Hancheng City, 1.5 kilometers away from National Highway 108 in the west, and 3.5 kilometers away from the Yellow River in the east. It has a history of nearly 700 years. Dangjia Village has a long history and simple folk customs. Because there are 123 courtyard houses, 11 ancestral halls, 25 watchtowers, and ancient buildings such as temples, theaters, Wenxing Pavilion, Housekeeper Building, Biyang Fort, Jiexiao Monument, etc. Experts at home and abroad praise it as "the living fossil of the villages inhabited by ancient traditional civilizations of oriental humans" and "the treasure of the world's dwellings". As a typical outstanding representative of Shanshan ancient dwellings, Dangjia Village Ancient Building Complex was included in the "China World Cultural Heritage Preparatory List" by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage on March 28, 2008. On December 9, 2016, it was rated as a national AAAA tourist attraction. On July 28, 2019, it was selected into the list of the first batch of national rural tourism key villages.
