Tashan is 2,663 meters above sea level and is the highest peak of the Alishan Mountains. The viewing platform on the mountain is also a good place to watch the sunset over the sea of clouds.

geological landform

The elevation of Tashan is 2,663 meters. The geology of Tashan is very special. It is composed of sandstone, shale and sand shale with a younger geological age. The mountain rocks have distinct layers of joints, like layers of ancient towers. The caves are formed naturally, and the rainwater passes through the rocks and gullies, hanging on the walls and flying into the air, like a curtain of golden beads, which is a spectacle.

Tashan is further divided into "Small Tashan", "Big Tashan" and the same mountain range extends to the east. Looking from the recreation area, the highest point is a large Tushan rock.

Viewing platform

Walking up the Tashan trail next to the sister lake in the forest recreation area, you can reach the viewing platform on the strange rock. The trail is mainly made of sleeper planks and gravel pavement, and the whole journey is about 3.5 kilometers. Climbing from 2,100 meters above sea level to 2,663 meters at the top of Tashan Mountain, the trail is about 1.5 meters wide and takes about 4 hours to go back and forth. The ultra-wide-angle view of the platform allows you to have a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery. You can have a bird's-eye view of the recreation area and the streams and landforms of the Alishan area.
