Also known as the North Gate of Frontier Defense, this section of the Great Wall was built in the 10th year of Jiajing (1531 A.D.). It was inspected by Wang Qiong, Shangshu of the Ministry of War, and requested the approval of the imperial court. It was built under the supervision of Qi Zhiluan. The Great Wall starts from Zaoergou in Helan Mountain in the west and ends at the bank of the Yellow River in the east. It is about 50 miles long. There are still relics in the vicinity of today's Dawukou Village, Mingshui Lake Farm and the railway in the east. Other places have been turned into farmland and roads, which no longer exist.
