Zhaozhou Dharani Sutra Building is located at the intersection of South Street and Shita Road in Zhao County, Shijiazhuang, Hebei. The original name of the Dharani Sutra Building is Buddha Zunsheng Dharani Building. It is named Dharani Sutra Building because of the "Dharani Sutra" engraved on the building body, and because the building body is all carved and stacked with granite stones. It looks like a tower. , commonly known as Shita by the locals. It was built in the fifth year of Jingyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1038), and it is the tallest stone scripture building known in my country. The Dharani Sutra Building in Zhaozhou faces south and is composed of a base, a building body and jewels on the top of the building. It is an octagonal multi-layered form with seven levels in total. The building is 16.44 meters high. There is an octagonal canopy or eaves between each section of the building. The entire stone building is composed of various reliefs, and the short pillars on the upper floor are all sculptures. It is an excellent example of the combination of architecture and sculpture art, and it is also a rare object for the study of Buddhism and sculpture art in the Northern Song Dynasty.
