Dongchuan Red Land is located in the northeast of Kunming City. Because the soil contains more iron and aluminum, it forms a dazzling red color. The land is divided into color blocks by fields and crops. From a distance, it is colorful, and it is even more spectacular with the blue sky and white clouds. In recent years, Red Land has gradually become a paradise for photographers.

There are several best times to visit the red land: April-May when the wheat is ripe, September-December when buckwheat and rape blossoms are growing vigorously, and February-March when there is occasional residual snow in the fields. Because the viewing spots in the Red Land are far away, if you need to shoot sunsets and sunrises, it is recommended to stay in Huashitou Village.

Red land attractions are relatively scattered. There is an obvious three-way intersection near Huashitou Village. It is the intersection of three roads from Huashitou Village to Hongditu Town, Dongchuan District and Kunming. The three lines can connect the main viewing spots of Hongtudi in series. Together, three main viewing lines are formed: the northwest line, the northeast line and the south line. The easiest way to visit the red land is to charter a car. Chartered cars in Dongchuan City usually cost 250-300 yuan per day, so that you can run three lines in one day, and you can park on the side of the road at any time, without missing a glimpse of the beautiful scenery. Regular shooting route: watch the morning glow in Damakan, other times in Qicaipo, Jinxiu Tianyuan, Lepuao, Laolongshu, and sunset in Luoxiagou in the evening.

Northwest Line:

From south to north, there are Langdadi, Jinxiu Garden, Colorful Slope and Damakan. Langdadi is located to the west of Sanchakou, and the terraced fields are like rolling waves, hence the name. Colorful Slope and Jinxiu Garden are actually the same piece of land, but viewing it from different angles will bring different visual impacts. Because there are large fields of potatoes, buckwheat and other crops planted, the rich colors are quite spectacular during the flowering season. Tamakan is located in the north of the Northwest Line, and it is a suitable place to photograph the sunrise.

Northeast Line:

Along the way from south to north, there are Dapingtang, Laolongshu, Dongguawan, Luoxiagou and Moon Field. The old dragon tree is a thousand-year-old fir tree, standing alone on the red soil, simple and vicissitudes. Every year in May when the terraced fields are watered and transplanted, the lines of Luoxiagou are like a pipa, and Luoxiagou is also one of the good places to take pictures of the sunset and sunset in the evening. Moon Field is about 20 kilometers away from Huashitou Village. The combination of terraced field landscape and canyon landscape is very rich in layers. It is a favorite place for many photographers to shoot blockbusters.

South Line:

The south line is the road to Kunming, and there are scenic spots such as Lepuao, Dawotang, and Dayakou on both sides. The musical notation is only more than one kilometer away from Huashitou Village. Layers of almost horizontal terraced fields look like colorful staves, and farmers working in the fields are embellished with musical notes, which are lifelike.
