introduce

Dongfeng Aerospace City, also known as Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, has an inland and desert climate, flat terrain, sparsely populated, little rain throughout the year, and long daylight hours. Launch tests can be carried out about 300 days a year. Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center was built in 1958. It is the launch test base of China's launch vehicle and also the manned space launch site of China.

In the 1960s, the secret code name of the wired telephone long-distance communication between the launch base and the three headquarters in Beijing was "Dongfeng", from which Dongfeng Aerospace City got its name.
