Dragon Palace Ecotourism Area is located on the edge of Tengger Desert in the north of Zhongwei City, 10 kilometers away from Zhongwei City, with a scenic area of 25,000 mu. In the tourist area, there is the largest Taoist temple in Ningxia - Longgong Temple. On the north side of the Dragon Palace Temple, the ancient Great Wall meanders past. After thousands of years, the ruins still remain. Sifangdunxiong, the largest beacon tower on the ancient Great Wall in Ningxia, is located here. There is a well-preserved ancient city area on the north and south sides of Sifangdun.

Not far from the north of the Great Wall is a natural freshwater lake - Xiaohu Lake, which covers an area of about ten hectares and is formed by ground spring water. The lake water is crystal clear with rippling blue waves, like a piece of jasper inlaid in the vast sea of sand. Dozens of waterfowl and migratory birds in the lake inhabit here. The west and north sides of the lake are surrounded by golden sand mountains, forming a desert lake.

The north shore of Xiaohu Lake is a large artificial forest in Zhongwei City. After several generations of construction in the past 50 years, it has become an ecological forest with an area of 15,000 mu. Entering the forest, the breeze is cool and pleasant, and the wild flowers and strange trees are full of wonders. It is a rare oasis in the desert. To the north of the woodland is the endless Tengger Desert. You can watch the sunrise over the sea of sand in the morning, and enjoy the solitary smoke in the desert in the evening.
