At the lake entrance at the northernmost end of Kanas Lake, there is a thousand-meter long embankment of driftwood. During the flood season, the river carries a large amount of driftwood from the upper reaches into the mouth of the lake. When the strong valley wind encounters a huge mountain in the south of Kanas Lake, the wind changes direction and pushes the driftwood into the lake against the current. Floating upwards, accumulated over time, gradually gathered and piled up at the mouth of the lake to form a long dike with a width of more than 100 meters and a length of 2,000 meters criss-crossed with driftwood.
