There are a total of 126 houses of various ancient architectural styles in the museum, fully demonstrating the local folk customs of Dunhuang.

The Dunhuang Folklore Museum uses the quadrangle courtyard and each room in the front yard to display Dunhuang local folk culture, religious beliefs, life etiquette, birthdays, seasonal seasons, basic necessities of life, food, daily life, snacks, weddings and funerals, worshiping gods and ancestors, and ceramic utensils There are more than 20 visiting exhibition rooms, such as production and life, entertainment and competition, business customs, celebrity calligraphy and painting, four treasures of study, jade carving and jewelry, and folk embroidery.
