Huashan East Peak is one of the main peaks of Huashan Mountain. This is the best place to watch the sunrise in Huashan Mountain Scenic Area, so it is also called Chaoyang Peak. Dongfeng is composed of several peaks, including Shilou Peak, Botai, and Chaoyang Balcony. Among them, Chaoyang Balcony is at a high altitude, dangerously high, and has a wide field of vision. It is a good place to watch the sunrise. Whenever the red sun rises, it shines on many sharply cut peaks around, creating a magnificent scenery. Dongfeng also has many small landscapes. There are natural stone patterns on the cliff on the side of Shilou Peak, like a giant palm print, which is the Huayue Immortal Palm in Guanzhong; there is Yanggong Pagoda in the north of Chaoyang Balcony, which was built by General Yang Hucheng; Pond, Sanmao Cave, Qingxu Cave, etc. However, many landscapes have been abandoned due to age or natural and man-made disasters, and now only ruins remain. There is an isolated peak near Qingxu Cave. On the top of the peak there is an iron tile pavilion and an iron chess board. It is said that Song Taizu Zhao Kuangyin once played chess with Chen Tuan’s ancestor here. Later, because of losing chess, he lost Huashan to Chen Tuan. The ancestor, the pavilion was named "playing chess pavilion". If you want to go to the chess pavilion, you have to go through the precipice where the kite turns over. Tourists who are afraid of heights or timid can decide whether to go according to their own conditions. The sunrise in Huashan has a saying that "nine out of ten days", so those who can see the sunrise are very lucky. After visiting the East Peak, you can continue to visit the South Peak and other Huashan scenic spots. If you want to go to Dongfeng to watch the sunrise, it is a good choice to stay in Dongfeng Scenic Area, so that you can sleep more in the morning. Dongfeng Hotel is the closest lodging point to Dongfeng. The cost of a bed in a multi-person room is about 150 yuan (there is no separate toilet, so you cannot take a shower), and the standard room costs thousands of yuan. Camping is also possible near Dongfeng. If you choose to camp, pay attention to safety and warmth, and it is very important to dispose of garbage properly. If you live in Zhongfeng, you need to get up a little earlier. It takes about 1 hour from Zhongfeng to Dongfeng.
