Erguna Wetland was originally named Genhe Wetland, but it was renamed Erguna Wetland after 2009. The wetland is located on the outskirts of Erguna City, and it is currently the largest wetland in China that remains in its original state. The terrain here is gentle and open, and the Gen River, a tributary of the Ergun River, meanders through here, forming a spectacular and beautiful river wetland landscape.

The Erguna Wetland contains a particularly large alluvial plain, where a delta is formed, which is located at the confluence of the Gen River, the Erguna River, the Derbu Gan River and the Haul River. Wetlands also include Root River, Derbu Dry River, Haur River and the floodplains on both banks, willow shrubs, saline-alkali grassland, Shuipaozi and their tributaries.

Wetlands cover almost all types of natural ecosystems in Erguna except virgin forests. In the dry season, due to the relatively stable water regime and sufficient wetlands, it becomes a very important shelter for many birds. The clear Gen River flows quietly, the curved water surrounds the meadow, and the banks are overgrown with shrubs and shrubs, full of greenery; while the vegetation turns yellow in autumn, it is a golden land from a distance, which is another magnificent scene.
