Erik Lake is located 16 kilometers southeast of Wuerhe Devil City Scenic Area, and is formed by the collection of Baiyang River. "Eric" means yogurt in Mongolian. Eric Lake has existed for at least 1300 years and is the only lake in Karamay.
The water in the lake area is rippling, reeds are clustered, fish are jumping and birds are singing, wild boars and gazelle often come and go, trees are forested, and farmland is criss-cross. It naturally forms a beautiful picture of desert lakes, so it is known as a pearl in the Gobi Desert.
