The original resident experience area of Huangyu Homeland is located in the Shaliu River Scenic Area, which is located in the south of Gangcha County, Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province, and is named after the Shaliu River. The Shaliu River originates from the southern foot of Sangsizha Mountain in Gangcha County, with a total length of 95 kilometers. After flowing through the county, it flows into Qinghai Lake, with a drainage area of 1,320 square kilometers. The Shaliu River Scenic Spot in Gangcha County is one of the better scenic spots to watch the spectacle of naked carp migration. From June to July every summer, Huang carp in Qinghai Lake swim upstream. They gather in dense groups and migrate upstream to the Shaliu River, Buha River and Quanji River in Gangcha to fertilize and ovulate. When passing through the shoal, the dorsal fin is exposed to the surface of the water, just like a thousand sails racing, and then forms a strange landscape of "half river clear water and half river fish" in a suitable spawning place.
