Fenghuang Ancient City Museum, the century-old house of Chen Baozhen’s family, is located in the center of Fenghuang Ancient City. The stone slabs connecting the east and west sides of the ancient city pass through the gate. The ancient buildings in the museum have been preserved intact after a hundred years of vicissitudes. From the layout of the buildings to the carved beams and painted buildings, they complement each other with the Chen Baozhen family, forming a secluded realm where there is a home at home, a museum within a museum, and a deep courtyard.
Chen Baozhen, an important official in the late Qing Dynasty, was deeply appreciated by Zeng Guofan. When you enter the museum, you can see the precious historical materials such as family relics, photos, and pictures donated by Chen Baozhen's descendants to the museum, as well as the "Lunyin Fengdian Imperial Edict Tablet" bestowed by Emperor Tongzhi of Qing Dynasty, and Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty. Chen Baozhen, who was bestowed by the imperial court, used wolf fur to make mattresses for his patrol cars. In the museum, more than 500 kinds of ore specimens and paleontological fossils hundreds of millions of years ago are also displayed.
When visiting the museum, you can also enjoy the works of the founder of the museum, Mr. Lei Yutian, "Small Scenery of Phoenix City" and "Picture of Heralding Spring". Mr. Lei Yutian began to cultivate pen and ink at the age of nine. His painting art form is novel and magnificent.
