It is located 20 kilometers northwest of Subei Mongolian Autonomous County and 90 kilometers away from Dunhuang. It is named after five caves dug on the cliff. Founded in the Northern Zhou Dynasty, it was rebuilt in Song Xixia. There are actually 6 caves, and 5 cave numbers are now compiled. The statues in each cave have been destroyed, and only the murals are left, which are unclear. Cave 1 is a central square column building, which was probably built in the Northern Dynasties. The original works have long since disappeared, and the existing murals were repainted during the Western Xia Dynasty. There are Maitreya Sutra, Shuiyue Guanyin, Mandala and so on. Cave 2 is rectangular in shape with a herringbone slope top. The rest of the bodhisattvas, kings, disciples and supporters are vivid and of high artistic level.
