Ji Xiaolan's former residence is a two-entry courtyard house, which belongs to the cultural relics protection unit at the Beijing Municipality. Its layout is facing south from the north. There is a vine in the front yard, which is said to have been planted by Ji Xiaolan herself.

There is a screen in the middle of the north side of the hall, and a horizontal plaque of "Old Site of Yuewei Caotang" is hung above it, which was written by the famous calligrapher Mr. Qi Gong. "Yuewei Thatched Cottage Notes" is Ji Xiaolan's pursuit of old news, and it is as famous as Pu Songling's "Strange Tales from a Liaozhai Studio". This is the study room where he wrote at his desk. The most eye-catching thing in "Yuewei Cottage" is the long dry pipe pot displayed in the showcase. Everyone knows that Ji Xiaolan is addicted to smoking, and her addiction to smoking is extremely heavy. His dry tobacco pot is specially made, and it is also nicknamed "Ji Da Tobacco".
