Tang Jiyao's former residence faces north and is divided into front and rear courtyards, with the gate facing the east. It is a small closed quadrangle building complex, which belongs to the typical residential architectural style of Huize in the middle and late Qing Dynasty. Hall, study and stables, and a warehouse in the backyard to store grain, as well as a kitchen. There is a well in the yard, and the spring water in the well is crystal clear. There are 14 houses in the front and back courtyards, and the courtyard of the entire former residence is basically well preserved. Compared with the many exquisite and magnificent houses in Huize, Tang Jiyao's former residence is a bit crude, because Tang Jiyao's family background was in the middle class in Huize at that time. Here, you can feel the legendary experience of his life and the ordinaryness of his former residence, while looking for traces of Huize left by him.
