Yan'an "Liberation Daily" was founded on May 16, 1941 and ceased publication on March 27, 1947. The "Liberation Daily" site was built on the half slope and rock bottom of Qingliang Mountain in Yan'an City, where a ten-hole cave dwelling was dug as the editorial department's office. The typesetting room of the Yan'an Central Printing Factory is located in Wanfo Cave, where newspapers, periodicals, and documents such as "Jiefang Daily" are typeset and printed. In September 2007, Jiefang Daily Newspaper Group repaired and arranged exhibitions at the former site of Yan'an "Liberation Daily". By May 2009, the restoration project of the old site of "Jiefang Daily" in Yan'an was successfully completed.
