Former Site of the General Political Department of the Red Army

During the Long March of the Red Army, the General Political Department was set up in the Catholic Church on Yangliu Street in Zunyi. It is now a national key cultural relics protection unit. The church consists of two parts: scripture hall and school hall. The scripture hall is at the north end, which is a "Roman style" building. The school is at the south end, which is a group of courtyard-style bungalow buildings with wooden structure.

When the Red Army crossed Chishui for the second time and conquered Zunyi again, the General Political Department held a meeting of cadres above the battalion and department levels in the Sutra Hall. Later, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage carried out thorough repairs, and changed the brick and wood structure into a reinforced concrete structure while strictly maintaining the original appearance. Later, the Catholic Church was repaired and used as the exhibition hall of the Zunyi Conference, which is an integral part of the site of the Zunyi Conference, a national key cultural relic protection unit.
