Gahai is located in Gahai Township, Luqu County, Gannan, about 36 kilometers away from Langmusi. Gahai Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Gannan area. When it is sunny, the blue sky and white clouds reflect in the water, which is very beautiful. Gahai Lake is also a bird sanctuary, where black swans, egrets, geese and ducks and other waterfowl inhabit here every summer. In July and August, the lakeside is still covered with various colorful wild flowers, and the scenery is beautiful.

The entire Gahai Lake has a large area, and the part developed as a scenic spot is located on the north side. Although the lake can be seen from other places, it is difficult to get close and the landscape is average. There are sightseeing cars from the gate of the scenic spot to the plank road by the lake, and then you can play along the plank road, walk to the lake and return from the other side. The whole play time is about 1-2 hours.

Gahai's grassland is open and flat, with beautiful scenery, and the wild flowers are very dense every summer, which is very beautiful. There is a big rock in the middle of the grassland, with the words "Gahai Lake" written in Chinese and Tibetan languages, and you can take pictures as a souvenir.

Walking along the grassland and approaching the lake, a small two-story building was built by the lake, with a watchtower on the roof. When you climb up to the observation deck, you can see the blue waves of Gahai Lake. Although the lake is not as blue and clear as many plateau lakes, the reflection in the lake still makes people feel refreshed, especially on sunny days. The scenery is beautiful. On the observation deck, you can also see many water birds wandering in the lake, and there are pictures of birds set in the air and then swooping down to catch fish, which is very interesting. After shooting at the observation deck, you can return to the entrance of the scenic spot along the plank road.

Gahai is located on the side of the road from Labrang Monastery to Langmusi. Few people make a special trip to visit Gahai, and most of them drop by when visiting Gannan. There is no suitable accommodation near Gahai. Generally, after a simple visit, tourists will go to the next stop and stay at Langmusi or Labrang Monastery.
