On the way from Shigatse to Lhasa, there is a mountain along the Yarlung Zangbo River, that is Ganba Kabure Mountain. Ganba Kabure Mountain means "pincer mountain" in Tibetan.
There is a stone tablet standing by the river, which records a legend about honesty: a long time ago, this place was in charge of the goddess Tubuka. One year, the goddess hired a local woman as a servant and promised to give the local woman a tent bag of food. as a yearly commission. A year later, when the goddess fulfilled her promise to give food to the maid, the maid set up the tent so that the grain kept flowing into the tent and it would never be full. When the goddess found out that the maid was responsible, she was furious and said: "The people here are very cunning." So she shoveled a handful of soil from the top of the mountain with a shovel and sprinkled it on the river, causing floods to submerge half of the village. Seeing this scene, all the people and maids were very afraid and worshiped the heart. They knelt down to pray to the goddess and vowed to be honest people. At this point, the goddess gave up. Since then, the people in this area respected the virtue of honesty, treated people with courtesy, and lived and worked in peace and contentment.
