Gangjian Thangka Painting Art Center is located on Jijilangka Road in downtown Shigatse, opposite Tashilhunpo Monastery. Here you can see the process of making thangka, using minerals to grind it into powder, blending it with special yak bile, and outlining the statues of gods and Buddhas on the cowhide. It is a treasure handed down from a devout Tibetan family.
