Locally known as "Xida Temple". It is located about 700 meters west of the ancient city of Beiting. Its architectural scale is magnificent and its plastic arts are exquisite, which is the only one seen in similar relics in northern Xinjiang. The temple faces south from the north, and has a main hall, east-west side halls, etc. It is 70.5 meters long from north to south, 43.8 meters wide from east to west, and the residual height of the main hall is more than 14 meters. In the east side hall, there is a 13-meter-long sleeping Buddha with a head north and feet south, sleeping peacefully. There is also a large mural of "Fenshari Picture", which is well preserved. The 15 Buddhist niches on the east side of the main hall have been repaired, and there are Buddha statues and murals in each cave. The size of the Buddha statue in the niche is about the same as that of a real person. The content of the murals mostly reflects Buddhist stories, as well as portraits of the Uighur royal family in Gaochang, their lives, and tours. The height of the sitting Buddha in the center of the main hall of the Buddhist temple is about 10 meters. Beiting Xida Temple was built in the 10th century AD and was buried by Uyghurs in Gaochang, and was destroyed by war in the early Ming Dynasty.
