Liuli Bridge, named "Yutuo Bridge", is called "Yutuo Samba" in Tibetan, which means "turquoise bridge". It is located in the west of Jokhang Temple, in the middle of Yutuo Road. One said it was built in the 7th century, and it was built in the 19th year of Tang Zhenguan (645 A.D.); The Qing government allocated special funds to build the bridge. Under the sunshine on the plateau, the top of the green glazed tile bridge is like jasper streamer, which is extraordinarily enchanting.
The Liuli Bridge is a five-hole stone bridge with a span of 28.3 meters and a bridge deck width of 6.8 meters. The bridge corridor adopts the Xieshan style building combining Tibetan and Chinese. The bridge is a Yongtang-style building with stone walls on both sides, 1.6 meters thick. There are five holes with a width of 2.3-2.5 meters on the walls on the east and west sides. The spacing between the holes is 2.6 meters and the height is 3.2 meters. Wooden railings with a height of 1.5 meters are placed outside the holes. The top of the herringbone bridge is covered with green glazed tiles, hence the name. There are three dripping patterns of different patterns on the top eaves, and the four corners are dragon head cornices. The center of the roof is decorated with a 1-meter-high glazed roof, and there are colored glazes at both ends for the decoration of the fruit ridge. The bridge was originally one of the main roads connecting the inside and outside of the ancient city of Lhasa.
