Gongjue Linka, also known as Chongjue Forest Palace, is located in the east of Shigatse City and was built in 1825 by the Seventh Panchen Lama Tenbai Nima. After it was completed, it was named Deji (Happiness) Sutra Hall. Later, Emperor Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty bestowed a gold plaque of "Gongjuelin Palace" inscribed in four languages: Tibetan, Han, Mongolian, and Manchu, so it was changed to Gongjuelin Palace. In the 1954 flood, Gongjuelin Palace was destroyed. It is now built by the people's government and turned into the People's Park of Shigatse City.

There are winding paths in the garden, connected on all sides, and stone tables and benches are placed. An artificial river has been dug for tourists to go boating. There are pavilions, arch bridges and other scenic spots on the river corridor. During important festivals, people will hold grand garden activities here.
