The King Kong Pagoda in Guandu Town was first built in the first year of Tomorrow Shun (1457 A.D.) and was donated for Luo Gui, the eunuch guarding Yunnan. The upper part of the pagoda was damaged by an earthquake in the fifth year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, and was repaired by Luo Guozhen, the magistrate of Kunming County. The Vajra Pagoda is built of sand and stone, with its strange shape and exquisite construction, it can be called the top grade among the domestic Vajra Throne Pagodas.

The Vajra Pagoda is one of the more than 10 existing Vajra Pagodas in China that was built earlier and has a long history. The base is square Mi-style, 9.8 meters wide on each side, 4.7 meters high, and the main tower is 17.13 meters high. The base of the Vajra Pagoda is a spiral shell, and the bottom is silt, and the whole tower gradually sinks. On June 24, 2002, an overall jacking project of the soft foundation was implemented for the King Kong Tower. The project adopted advanced pipe jacking technology and steel strand prestressed concrete technology, which solved the problem of synchronous balance between vibration and jacking when starting. Many technical problems have raised the Vajra Pagoda by 2.6 meters as a whole, and the current Vajra Pagoda is even more spectacular.
