Guanghua Street Old Block

Guanghua Street starts from Zhengyi Road in the east and ends at Longjing Street in the west. The section from Zhengyi Road to Yunrui Park is called Dongyuan Street because it is adjacent to the East Courtyard of the Governor’s Yamen (now the site of Shengli Hall); the section from Longjing Street to Yunrui Park is called Yuanmenkou because it is located to the west of the Yuanmen of the Governor’s Mansion. After the Revolution of 1911, the two sections of the road were collectively called Guanghua Street.

Among the surviving historical and cultural districts of old Kunming, Guanghua Street is as lively as Jingxing Street, always crowded with people every weekend. Go to Yunrui Park to walk birds, sell birds, buy birds, buy and sell pets, flowers and plants, shop for treasures, and just pass by to see the folk customs of old Kunming.

From the end of Yunnan Art Theater, walk east along the stone road, and cross Longjing Street, which is Guanghua Street. From the west end entrance to Yunrui Park, in the two-story civil structure house on the right, the shops on the first floor mainly sell clothing, and some specialize in selling police equipment. There are also various other products for sale. On the left is the Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, separated by some remaining old Kunming buildings.
Near Yunrui Park, the Anti-Japanese War Victory Memorial Hall and Yunrui East and West Roads are on the left, and Yunrui Park is on the right. Outside the park is the place where pets are bought and sold in the main city, and most of the pets are dogs. Entering Yunrui Park, it is a free trading place for birds and related animals. On the side of Yongdao Street, there are mostly antique and flower sales stalls on the spot.

From Yunrui Park to Zhengyi Road, there are mainly restaurants and shops making billboards. Fulintang, a well-known medical family in the history of old Kunming, is at the intersection of this road section with Wenming Street and Confucian Temple Street. Every weekend, women's tonics will be cooked on the spot at the entrance of the store.
