Gua Mountain is located 3 kilometers north of Jiaocheng County. The shape of this mountain is very similar to Bagua, hence the name. There are good natural scenery here, as well as the thousand-year-old temple, which is a well-known local scenic spot. It was famous as early as the Tang Dynasty for its mountains shaped like hexagrams, ancient cypresses all over the mountain, majestic temples and Huayan Daochang. Mi Fu, a calligrapher and painter in the Song Dynasty, ranked it among the three mountains and five mountains, and praised it as "the first mountain". ".

The Tianning Temple in the mountains was founded in the first year of Tang Zhenguan (627). Most of the buildings in the temple that tourists see today were built in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. There is a Thousand Buddha Pavilion in the front yard of Tianning Temple, which was first built in the Song Dynasty and rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The temple also preserves iron bells, iron steles, and stone steles of the Ming Dynasty, as well as inscriptions on the reconstruction of Tianning Temple in the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, scenic spots such as the Temple of the Holy Mother, the Academy of Guashan, and the Ancestral Hall of Zhugong were added to Guashan.
