Gugan Shuizu Township is located at the junction of Yunnan and Guizhou in the southeast of Fuyuan County. It is adjacent to Huangnihe Town in the county to the west, and Pingdong, Wusha and Qingshui in Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province to the east, south and north respectively. It is the only way for Qianxinan Prefecture in Guizhou Province to enter Fuyuan and Pan counties. It is known as "the key of Yunnan and Guizhou" and is the east gate of Fuyuan County in Yunnan Province. Gugan Village, where the township government is located, is 135 kilometers away from Fuyuan County, 27 kilometers away from the urban area of Xingyi City, the seat of Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, 13 kilometers away from Weishe Station, the second-level marshalling station of Nankun Railway, and 13 kilometers away from Xingyi City.
