The Guia Fortress is located on the top of the Guia Mountain, the highest point of the Macau Peninsula. It was built between 1637 and 1638 and has sentries and lighthouses. From the spiral staircase to the top of the tower, you can overlook the entire Macau Peninsula and the "Macau's Historic Center", with a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery, and the Church of Our Lady of the Snow is built next to the lighthouse.

Guia Fortress

Guia Fortress was originally used to defend against foreign invasion and as an observation post, and has been listed as a military restricted zone. In 1976, the fort was opened as a tourist spot, and it still maintains its original appearance. As the Guia Fort area was once an important military base, many air-raid shelters were built underground. Since 2003, these previously closed air-raid shelters have undergone major renovations and have now been built as the "Songshan Air-raid Shelter Exhibition Gallery".

Guia Lighthouse

The Guia Lighthouse is a very old lighthouse in the coastal areas of China. It was built in 1865. It is 13 meters high, with white walls and a red roof, majestic and tall. In September 1874, the lighthouse was damaged due to a storm. After reconstruction, it was re-opened on June 29, 1910, and has been to this day. On a clear night, the light from the lighthouse can be seen within 20 miles around Macau. Near the lighthouse, you can also see the sign of the typhoon signal. Whenever a typhoon blows, the Meteorological Bureau will hang a corresponding typhoon signal sign on the fort to remind citizens to be prepared.
