Guyaju is a magical place among the valleys in the suburbs of Beijing. On both sides of a ravine less than 10 meters wide in the canyon, on the steep granite rock wall nearly 100,000 square meters away from the valley bottom, there are artificially carved stone chambers of different sizes.

There are a total of 117 stone chambers, which are scattered and orderly, like a natural village. Stone chambers are generally 1.8 meters high and rectangular or square in shape, most of which are three suites with one bright and two dark. All the stone chambers are distributed into floors, and the floors are connected by stone steps, stone ladders and trestle bridges. There are many traces of human existence left in the stone chamber, such as doors, windows, closets, lampstands, stone kangs, exhaust ducts, stone stoves and mangers. The stone room with a kang is a living room, and the kang is wide enough to accommodate two people; the one with a manger is a stable, which can generally accommodate four or five horses.

Shiyaju is a large-scale Yaju site in North China. Regarding its excavation time, purpose and historical background, some researchers believe that it was a place where soldiers were stationed in ancient times, some said it was a barracks for border soldiers, and some It is still inconclusive to judge that it is the hiding place of the heroes of the green forest on the rivers and lakes. Visitors may wish to visit the site in person, and make their own judgments based on what they see and receive.
