Hebei University, located in Baoding, a national historical and cultural city, was founded in 1921. In 1952, Jingu University’s School of Engineering and School of Finance and Economics were merged into Tianjin University and Nankai University respectively. On the basis of Teachers’ College, Tianjin Teachers’ College was established on the original site, continuing the history of Hebei University; in 1958, it was expanded to Tianjin Normal University Later, it was identified as one of the five important universities in the province; in 1960, it was transformed into a comprehensive university and named Hebei University; in 1970, Hebei University moved from Tianjin to Baoding City, Hebei Province.
