Hengshan Reservoir is located 5km south of Hunyuan County, Shanxi Province, at the foot of Beiyue Hengshan Mountain, on the Tangyu River, a tributary of the Hunhe River in the upper reaches of the Sanggan River in the Haihe River Basin. The total storage capacity is 13.3 million cubic meters, and the design flood control standard is 100 years. The grade of the reservoir is III, and the grade of the main buildings is Grade 2.
